Comet 2014 Q2
(Lovejoy) is a long-period comet discovered on August 17, 2014 by
Terry Lovejoy. The comet made its closest approach to Earth on
January 7, 2015, at a distance of about 43 million miles. It
brightened to about magnitude 5. It is due to return in about 8000
years. |
